“Once a Bear, Always a Bear—Committed to Briarcliff Students, Families, and Future.”
Committed to the Briarcliff Community
As a lifelong member of the Briarcliff community, an educator, and a parent, I am dedicated to supporting every student and enhancing our schools. Briarcliff has played a significant role in shaping my identity, and I am committed to giving back to the community that has provided so much for my family and me. I am running for the Board of Education to ensure our schools continue to provide strong academic programs, meaningful support services, and a nurturing environment where all students can thrive.
I am proud to have grown up in Briarcliff Manor, where I attended local schools from elementary through high school. I hold dual Master's degree in Childhood Education and Special Education, with a concentration in Mathematics.
I began my career as a classroom teacher after completing my student teaching at Todd Elementary School, where I worked for two years. For the past 15 years, I have been a special education teacher in The Tuckahoe Union Free School District, teaching in various settings.
As both an educator and a parent, I bring a well-rounded perspective to this role. My husband and I are raising our two daughters, Gabriella (9) and Michaela (7), who currently attend Todd Elementary School. It is incredibly meaningful to raise our children in the same district that played such a significant role in shaping my life.
Throughout my time in Briarcliff schools, I was fortunate to learn from many outstanding educators who left a lasting impact on me. I am committed to ensuring that today’s students continue to benefit from the exceptional teachers who make this district so special.
In addition, I have been a proud member of the Briarcliff Manor Education Foundation, where I have served as chair of fundraising and most recently sponsorship. Over the years, our foundation has awarded over 40 grants and raised a significant amount of money to support these initiatives. It is a rewarding position, especially when witnessing how these grants come to life and enhance the curriculum.
I bring the perspectives of a student, teacher, and parent, and I am committed to working collaboratively with the Board and the community to continue to grow Briarcliff schools into the best possible learning environment for all children.
I am passionate about special education, as it is one of the most rewarding fields. I believe that every student deserves access to the support they need to succeed. I will advocate for strong special education programs that meet the needs of all students through high-quality services and well-developed Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Collaboration, consistency, and appropriate resources are essential for supporting diverse learners. I am also committed to working collaboratively with and supporting the new Director of Pupil Personnel Services to strengthen programs and ensure all students receive the services they need to thrive.
Strong schools are built on strong relationships. I am committed to fostering a positive and collaborative environment among teachers, administrators, and staff. By building trust, encouraging open communication, and supporting those who work directly with students, we can create a school culture that benefits both educators and learners.
I believe families should feel informed, supported, and included in their child’s learning process. I will advocate for greater transparency in all classes and intervention services at Todd Elementary School by strengthening communication between parents and interventionists. Clear, consistent communication will ensure families understand the support their children receive and can actively partner in their progress.
Community Connections
I believe in the importance of preserving the traditions that make our schools so special. These experiences create lasting memories for students and families as they grow through each stage of their education. I am committed to supporting and maintaining meaningful traditions that allow parents to celebrate and cherish their children’s journey through all three schools.
Students and families deserve to have memories they can look back on and fondly remember their time in Briarcliff Schools. I also support engaging events and experiences that excite students and foster a love of learning while building a strong sense of community.
